Joni Korte has a vast and diverse work experience in the field of engineering. Joni began their career in 1999 as a Structural Engineer at URS Corporation, where they worked until 2003. Following this, they joined Burns & McDonnell as a Structural Engineer for a year. In 2004, they joined Juneau Associates, Inc., P.C. and worked as a Structural Engineer for eight years. Since 2012, Joni has been associated with Bi-State Development, where they initially served as a Structures Inspection Program Manager and later transitioned to the role of Director - Maintenance of Way (MOW) Engineering in August 2021. Their career reflects a consistent focus on structural engineering and a progression into managerial roles.
Joni Korte has a strong background in civil engineering. Joni earned their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, which they completed between 1995 and 1997. Following this, Joni pursued further education and obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Civil Engineering from the same institution between 1997 and 1998.
In addition to their formal education, Joni has also obtained certifications in the field. Joni is a certified Tunnel Safety Inspector through the FHWA National Highway Institute, although the specific month of certification is not provided. Furthermore, they have also been certified as a Bridge Safety Inspection Team Leader & Program Manager through the same institute in 2017.
