Tomislav Karoli

Tomislav Karoli is a seasoned drug discovery leader with extensive experience spanning research, discovery, development, and commercialization within the pharmaceutical sector. Currently serving as the Senior Director of Drug Enabling Sciences at BIAL since November 2020, Tomislav has held key positions at various companies including Novasep as Head of Chemical Sciences and Progen Pharmaceuticals in roles such as Head of Process Development and Medicinal Chemist. With a robust background in developing therapies for anti-bacterials, antivirals, oncology, and central nervous system diseases, Tomislav has contributed significantly to projects leading to the advancement of several clinical candidates, notably PG545, and has worked in collaboration with academic research institutes and large-scale CDMOs. Tomislav holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Organic Chemistry from The University of Queensland.
