Ayan Dhara

Ayan Dhara is a Research Scientist at BIC since October 2023, specializing in the design and synthesis of compounds for semipermanent tattoos. Prior to this role, Ayan served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Windsor from October 2020 to October 2023, focusing on the design, synthesis, and analysis of functionalized mechanically interlocked molecules. Ayan also held a similar position at Indiana University Bloomington from March 2018 to September 2020, where research included synthesizing a new fluorescent macrocycle and developing anion-binding organic macrocycles. Ayan began academic pursuits as a PhD student at The Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg from October 2012 to November 2017, achieving a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry and contributing to significant advances in supramolecular chemistry. Ayan's academic credentials include an MSc from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and a BSc from Jadavpur University, both in Chemistry.
