Bahman was the founder and CEO of Open Systems International (OSI), a very successful utility automation and control software company which was acquired by Emerson Electric in 2021. Under his stewardship, OSI grew from a startup company of less than 10 employees to an international organization of nearly 1000 employees disrupting the utility automation field. Under his watch, OSI remained a profitable company year after year with impressive revenue growth. Bahman is also a leading expert in Smart Grid technologies and served as the technical visionary at OSI to help innovate and build an impressive product portfolio including a leading Advanced Distribution Management (ADMS) and Distributed Energy Resource Management (DERMS) platform. Since retiring from OSI, Bahman is involved in managing a family office which invests in high growth energy and clean-tech companies. He uses his 40+ years of technical and business experience in leading growing organizations, to advise the portfolio companies in an Advisory or Board role in technical, organizational, and sales and business development matters. Bahman has previously worked for divisions of GE and Siemens involved in Utility Energy Management systems as well as serving as a management consultant to Utilities worldwide. Bahman holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Electric Power from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.
