Matthew Ray has a diverse work experience in the energy and political sectors. Matthew is currently serving as the Director of Sales at Bidgely since April 2022. Prior to that, Matthew worked at National Grid, starting as a Campaign Intern at Jack Carter For U.S. Senate in 2006. Matthew then went on to be a Legal Intern at the Office of Rhode Island Attorney General in 2010. In 2011, they were a Summer Associate at Decof & Decof, P.C. where they drafted legal documents and assisted in cases related to insurance issues. Matthew joined SmartPower in 2013, initially as a Community Outreach Manager, and later became the Vice President, building partnerships and managing outreach activities for energy efficiency programs. After leaving SmartPower, Matthew held various roles at National Grid, including Senior Strategic Business Analyst and Lead Strategy and Policy Analyst, where they developed and managed energy programs and presented at regulatory filings. Throughout their career, Matthew has been actively involved in community engagement and legislative presentations.
Matthew Ray has a J.D. degree in Law from Roger Williams University School of Law. Prior to that, they obtained a B.A. degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. In addition, Matthew has certifications in Bar Admissions from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island.
