Darren Bird

Darren Bird is currently the Mechanical Biological Treatment Site Manager at Hespin Wood and the Closed Landfill Manager in Dumfries & Galloway, where they represent Renewi on a 25-year PFI contract. They lead a team focusing on production, compliance, and reliability while managing environmental controls and budgets. With a robust background in electrical and process instrumentation from the oil and gas industry, Darren graduated from Coventry University in 2016 with a distinction in Engineering Metrology. Prior to their current role, they held various technical positions, including Engineering Supervisor and Electronic & Instrumentation Technician.
