Leo Capernaros

Leo Capernaros currently holds the position of Head of Health and Wellbeing at Biffa since November 2023. Prior to this role, Leo served as Wellbeing Manager at Mace from August 2021 to November 2023, where support was provided for the strategic development of health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives. Leo's experience includes a tenure at the Civil Aviation Authority as Wellbeing Manager from August 2018 to August 2021, leading the design and implementation of a comprehensive wellbeing strategy. Additionally, Leo worked at Staffordshire County Council from March 2010 to August 2018, first as Commissioning Officer focusing on public health services and then as Public Health Development Officer managing workplace health programs. Earlier career experiences include roles in communications and public engagement at the NHS and promotions at the New Zealand Fire Service. Leo holds a BA Hons in Performing Arts Management and Business Studies from The University of Manchester, alongside qualifications in project management and occupational health and safety.
