Big Back Pack helps independent schools hire exceptional leaders who align with their mission, culture, and values.

Founded in 2017, we’ve partnered with over 100 schools nationwide, building leadership teams that make a lasting impact on their communities.
We focus exclusively on leadership search for independent schools specializing in Business Office roles, Advancement Office roles and other key senior administrative positions.

Our retained search model is proactive and people-first. We go beyond posting and waiting by engaging both active and passive candidates within and beyond the independent-school ecosystem.

The result? A stronger, more diverse pool of leaders who can move your mission forward.

Our team comes from independent education ourselves — so we understand that success isn’t just about experience, it’s about fit. We’re committed to helping you find leaders who bring purpose, integrity, and heart to your school community.

A portion of every placement fee is donated to local education nonprofits, because we believe in giving back to the communities we serve.
