Big World Cinema, established 30 years ago by Steven Markovitz, has produced feature films, documentaries, TV series and shorts, many of which have screened at festivals such as Cannes, Sundance, Berlinale, Venice, Toronto, IDFA and/or received an Oscar nomination. Over the past 15 years, Big World Cinema has focused on producing and distributing content across the continent of Africa and has produced in over 34 African countries.
 
Big World has worked with over 150 African directors and produced a number of projects with Wanuri Kahiu, hajooj kuka and Jim Chuchu.
