James Pitts

James Pitts has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. James currently works as the Head of Materials at BigRep - Large-Format 3D Printers since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at BASF Forward AM from 2017 to 2022. At BASF Forward AM, they held various roles, including Training Manager, Metal Systems Applications Technology Manager, and Additive Manufacturing Process and Application Technology Engineer. Before joining BASF Forward AM, James worked as a Technical Consultant at DP Technology - ESPRIT CAD/CAM Software in 2017. James also worked as an Additive Manufacturing Application Engineer at DMG MORI USA from 2013 to 2016. Additionally, James gained research experience as a Graduate Student Researcher at UC Davis from 2012 to 2014. James also completed internships at DMG MORI, Sauer GmbH in 2012, where they worked as a Lasertec Applications Engineer and an Ultrasonic Applications Engineer. Prior to their internships, James worked as an Undergraduate Student Assistant at UCD Intelligent Manufacturing Systems and Mechatronics Laboratory from 2010 to 2012. James started their career as a Piping & Instrument Diagram Contractor at Chevron in 2008 and served as a Communications Specialist in the U.S. Army from 2000 to 2004.

James Pitts completed their education in the field of Mechanical Engineering. James started their academic journey at Diablo Valley College in 2004, where they pursued their initial studies until 2009. Following this, they transferred to the University of California, Davis, and continued their studies there until 2012. James obtained their Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Davis in 2012. James then went on to pursue a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution, completing it in 2014.
