Walter Thornton

Walter Thornton has a diverse work experience spanning several companies. Walter started their career at iGo, Inc. in 2003, where they served as the Vice President of Product Management and Supply Chain. In this role, they were responsible for product strategy, innovation, development, quality, production, customer service, and marketing on a global scale. Walter also managed a team of over 20 employees and had a budget of over $5 million.

In 2011, Walter co-founded Flockstream and became the Head of Product Development. Walter successfully launched flockstream.com within six months, using Agile methodology. Walter led UI/UX design, wrote all code, and set up the cloud-based server and streaming backend. Additionally, they developed a unique visual map for navigating online threaded conversations using Javascript.

Walter later joined Visio Financial Services in 2013, where they held the position of VP Marketing & Digital Strategy. Walter played a crucial role in marketing and developing digital strategies for the company until 2016.

Walter's most recent role was at Billfire, starting in 2016, where they became the President and COO.

Walter Thornton graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with a focus on Finance from Georgetown University in 1991. Walter later earned an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in 2003. In 2017, Walter completed the Deep Learning Nanodegree Foundation program from Udacity. In addition to their formal education, they obtained various certifications in data-related fields, including Developing Data Products, Practical Machine Learning, Regression Models, Statistical Inference, Exploratory Data Analysis, Getting and Cleaning Data, R Programming, and Reproducible Research, all from Coursera.
