Binary Defense
Shannon Mong is a skilled cybersecurity professional with a strong background in threat research and technical mentorship. Currently serving as a Threat Researcher II at Binary Defense since September 2023, Shannon previously held the position of Threat Researcher I. In addition to this role, Shannon has been a Technical Mentor for the MCISSE CyberPatriot Page since September 2019, focusing on teaching students about malware defense, Cyber Etiquette, and System Hardening practices using various tools. Prior experience includes working as an Intelligence Analyst at the National Cyber-Forensics and Training Alliance (NCFTA), where Shannon conducted malware analysis and authored technical reports on Indicators of Compromise. In an earlier role at Instructure, Shannon provided IT support for the Canvas LMS platform. Shannon holds a B.S. in Cybersecurity and a B.S. in Computer Science from Seton Hill University, earned in May 2023.
