Abelardo Riojas

Abelardo Riojas is a data scientist currently serving as a Data Science Graduate Summer Intern at Surest, where project ownership includes the end-to-end development of "PlanProphet," a web application that automates analysis of health insurance design documents using LLMs. Previous experience includes a role as a Freelance Data Scientist at Voltaire Consulting Group, where advanced predictive text models were developed utilizing OpenAI's GPT-3 to enhance business planning for small business clients. As a Data Science Research Assistant at the FSU Computational Intelligence Lab, Abelardo worked on deep learning models for multilabel audio classification and presented research findings at notable conferences. Additionally, leadership skills were demonstrated as the Undergraduate Research Leader at FSU CRE, mentoring over 60 students and overseeing research presentations. Abelardo holds a Master’s degree in Data Science from The University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor's degree in Computational Science and Statistics from Florida State University.
