Sylvain Seif, PhD

Sylvain Seif, PhD has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Sylvain currently holds the position of Senior Polymer Engineer at Novoloop where they manage the polymer processing lab and specializes in running injection molding and co-extrusion cast film machines. Prior to this, Dr. Seif worked as a Senior Technical and R&D Expert at INDEVCO Group where they provided research and technical consulting for the entire INDEVCO/Napco FPD. Sylvain was responsible for overseeing industrial trials, optimizing processing parameters, and creating cost-efficient recipes involving polymer systems. Additionally, Dr. Seif has teaching experience as a Professor at the University Saint Esprit Kaslik and Notre Dame de Louaize University, where they taught courses in advanced process engineering and engineering mechanics. Before their academic career, they worked as a Technical Manager at Napco National, managing research and development in polymer blending and compounding operations. Sylvain also gained relevant experience as an External Affairs Officer and President of the student body at The University of Akron's Department of Polymer Engineering. During their time as a Graduate Research Assistant, they conducted PhD research on the effects of organoclay inclusion and process variables in lower and higher molecular weight films. Sylvain'swork involved utilizing advanced stretching machines and analytical techniques to study structural evolution and strain-induced crystallization. Prior to their research assistantship, Dr. Seif gained practical experience as an Engineering Cooperative in the Materials Development Laboratory at The Hoover Company, where they developed skills in running tests, analyzing failed parts, and formulating rubber/vinyl materials.
