We are dedicated to harnessing the unique properties of biochar to develop high-value products with a neutral or negative carbon footprint. Rather than treating biochar as an end in itself, we integrate it as a key ingredient in innovative solutions that deliver additional benefits.  

Developed with support from Innovate UK and the Apollo Angel Investment Syndicate, our breakthrough product is a carbon-negative fertiliser granule, ReCharge, designed for arable crops. Compatible with any cultivation system, easily applied using existing farm machinery, and validated in field scale trials, we expect a patent to be granted in spring 2026.

ReCharge significantly reduces the carbon footprint of cultivation and contributes to lowering Scope 3 emissions in the food supply chain.

In January 2026 we secured our first IP license, granted to A Heathier Earth who have committed >£2m to a R & D project with Cefetra, part funded by Innovate UK, to further iterate and test our fertiliser to expand it's use capabilities to all broad acre crops.

This development license will lead to a commercialisation license as product is brought to market in 2027.

Building on our success, we have co-founded Blue Earth Biochar to address diffuse nutrient pollution in agriculture. Once again, we have secured Innovate UK grant funding and began a two-year feasibility study in January 2025 to develop innovative new solutions in this space. We started field trials of a soli based product on the September 2025 winter wheat crop and aill deploy our first water based trials in late spring 2026.
