Founded in 2016, BioCifer is a private company based in Queensland. BioCifer’s core focus is development of molecular diagnostic components. By actively developing and applying its novel approach to molecular diagnostics, BioCifer aims to save lives and transform communities through the rapid detection of viruses and diseases.

Disease detection is of paramount global importance. Many diseases have similar symptoms, and effective treatment requires the correct biomarkers to be identified and monitored.

BioCifer develops components and tests that improve the detection of pathogens and genetic biomarkers by uniquely combining improved technologies for manufacturing, molecular detection, and field-detection.

Our technology provides an ability to rapidly scale-up manufacturing while simultaneously streamlining and speeding up testing protocols. In addition, our technology retains excellent accuracy that is comparable to lab-based testing, yet strives towards an ease-of-use similar to the well-known at-home pregnancy test.

BioCifer provides the technical capability to combine reagents from multiple researchers and industries, produce prototype devices, and validate their effectiveness for disease detection. Our general product portfolio is relevant to medical point-of-care diagnostics, as well as veterinary, agricultural and environmental diagnostics.
