Willem Perold

Electronic Engineer at BioCODE Technologies

Willem earned his Master's, PhD and DEng degrees from Stellenbosch University in 1977, 1986 and 2017, respectively. He joined the university staff in 1982 and retired as extraordinary professor in 2018. From 2008 until his retirement, he served as Vice Dean: Research in the Faculty of Engineering. Willem started the Sensor Applications & Nano-Devices research group and manages a group of about 20 postgraduate students. His research interests include solid state physics, electronic circuit simulation, superconducting circuits and devices as well as nano-biosensors.
