Nature solved optimization problems billions of years before we built factories. We apply those principles to yours.

BIODE Engineering helps industrial facilities across Québec, Alberta, and internationally turn environmental compliance into a measurable operational advantage. Not a regulatory burden. A competitive one.

Most environmental consulting treats compliance, process performance, and cost as separate problems. We don't. Using computational modeling, real-time process data, and bio-inspired optimization — genetic algorithms, swarm intelligence, surrogate modeling — we find operating points that single-objective approaches miss. The result: facilities that meet regulatory requirements while reducing chemical use 10–20% and seeing returns within a quarter.

Where we work:
Environmental authorizations and permitting across air, wastewater, stormwater, and industrial discharges. Atmospheric dispersion modeling with AERMOD, emission inventories, and stack assessments. Regulatory strategy for MELCCFP, REAFIE, EPEA, and municipal frameworks. Wastewater treatment optimization — dosing, stabilization, surcharge reduction. IIoT-driven process analytics that turn operational data into decisions.

What makes us different is how we work. A small, senior team — engineers and data scientists — embedded alongside your operators and executives. We model the system, test the solution, refine against real data. Every recommendation is defensible to a regulator and executable on a production floor.

Faster permit approvals. Lower surcharges. Compliance that pays for itself.

Curious what bio-inspired optimization could find in your process? We offer a one-page memo with two tailored opportunities — no commitment, no generic assessment.
