Garrett Benisch's work experience is as follows: In 2014, they were a Fellow/Kigali Operations at MASS Design Group, where they were the Operations Manager at the Kigali Office and spent one year in Rwanda working in Furniture Design and Construction. In 2016, they were a Fabricator at Brook Landscape. From 2017 to 2020, they were a Graduate Assistant at Pratt Institute, a Project Manager for Research in 2019, and a Visiting Instructor in 2020. In 2020, they were a Co-Founder at Sum Studio and a Director of Design Development at Bioforcetech Corporation. In 2021, they became Co-Founder of OurCarbon, a carbon negative material created from organic 'waste' that has been redirected from end of life scenarios that create greenhouse gasses, which is utilized in industrial applications, shifting business as usual emitting supply chains to carbon sinks.
Garrett Benisch received a Master of Industrial Design from Pratt Institute between 2016 and 2019, with a focus in Industrial Design. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts from Colorado College between 2010 and 2014, with a focus in Fine and Studio Arts. In addition, Benisch has obtained certifications in Healthier Materials and Sustainable Building from the Healthy Materials Lab at Parsons School of Design in May 2020, Slackline Yoga Instructor from Yogaslackers in June 2012, and Avalanche Safety Level 1 Course Completion from Creste Butte Mountain Guides in January 2011.
