Christopher Shaffer

Christopher Shaffer is a seasoned professional in the field of neuroscience R&D with extensive experience in executive leadership roles. At Biogen from April 2018 to June 2021, Christopher served as Executive Director and Head of the External Innovation Unit, focusing on high-risk neuroscience projects and external partnerships to enhance internal portfolios. Prior to Biogen, Christopher worked at Pfizer from August 2009 to March 2018 as Senior Director within the NeuroOpportunities Group, managing innovative neuroscience programs and complex collaborations. Christopher's academic background includes a PhD and MS in Medicinal Chemistry from The University of Kansas.
