Craig Bates

Craig Bates is the AVP of Chemical and Drug Product Development at Reata Pharmaceuticals, Inc. They have extensive experience in managing drug substance and drug product development, overseeing outsourced activities from pre-IND through commercial stages. Prior roles include Senior Director and Director of Process Chemistry at Reata Pharmaceuticals, and Principal Research Scientist at ArQule, where they led initiatives in process chemistry R&D. Craig earned a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and a B.S. in Chemistry & Marine Biology from Roger Williams University. Currently, they head the Reata Chemical and Drug Product Development and Manufacturing at Biogen, maintaining oversight of manufacturing activities for key products.
