John Silbereis

John Silbereis is a Principal Scientist and Preclinical Program Leader at Biogen since June 2018, leading a research group focused on neuropharmacology and biomarker discovery for multiple sclerosis and immunology. Responsibilities include managing a team of scientists and directing a GPCR small molecule preclinical program. Prior roles include Senior Scientist and Lead Biologist, involved in inflammation and neuro-immunology targets, and exploratory research in neural activity modulation. John’s academic background includes a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Yale University, a PhD in Neuroscience from UCSF, and early research roles in neurodevelopment studies. Additional experience includes instructing human physiology at the University of San Francisco and working as a QC Chemist. John's educational qualifications comprise a BSc in Biology from The George Washington University.
