Matthew Stephens

Matthew Stephens is an experienced biopharmaceutical professional currently serving as Associate Director of External Manufacturing at Biogen since September 2023. Previously, Matthew held the position of Associate Director of Drug Product Manufacturing at Reata Pharmaceuticals, where responsibilities included overseeing external CDMOs for early stage to commercial supplies and ensuring proper resource allocation for projects. Prior to that, Matthew was a Senior Scientist at Serán BioScience, leading first-in-human product development and managing R&D activities. Earlier roles included Senior Scientist in Late Stage Product Development at Lonza, where excellence in inhalation and macromolecule technologies was demonstrated, and Research Associate at The University of Texas at Austin, managing multiple labs.
