Amy Odom is a principal in Dentons' Public Policy and Regulation practice. Amy brings to Dentons more than 20 years of multi-state and federal governmental affairs advocacy, strategy and tactical grassroots experience, in both the private and public sectors.

Amy offers clients a knowledgeable and broad perspective of the impact and implications that federal and state legislative and regulatory policy can have on their overall business priorities, and is adept at helping clients understand how to strategically win in a complex political environment by helping them create successful public affairs campaigns geared at achieving their goals.

Prior to joining Dentons, Amy was the Vice President for State Affairs for Anthem (formerly WellPoint), the largest health benefits company in the United States, and was responsible for all aspects of Anthem’s advocacy efforts in its fourteen commercial footprint states. Prior to assuming that position, Amy was the Vice President of Anthem’s federal affairs office in Washington, DC, and was responsible for the company's political and advocacy strategy during the health care reform debate.

Amy began her career as the principal assistant to the campaign manager for Georgia Governor Zell Miller's high-profile re-election effort in 1994, and worked for a public affairs firm based in Austin, Texas, Public Strategies.

Her previous experience at Public Strategies coupled with her work in the Georgia state legislature and on Zell Miller's high profile gubernatorial election bid in 1994, created a platform for success in leading teams, corporations and clients to the successful pursuit and realization of their key priorities.
