Francesca Abate

Francesca Abate is an accomplished professional in the field of biotechnology with extensive experience in process development, quality control, and project management. Currently serving as the Head of Quality Control at BioLamina since March 2025, Francesca previously held positions such as Group Production Manager at Atlas Antibodies and Scientist at Cytiva and GE Healthcare, focusing on downstream process development and customer training. Francesca's earlier roles include experience as a Senior Scientist at Xbrane Biopharma, a Postdoctoral Fellow at Karolinska Institutet, and a PhD student with Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics, where a PhD in Structural Biology was earned. Educational qualifications include a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Industrial Biotechnology from the University of Turin, alongside a PhD from the University of Siena.
