Marcela Pyles

Marcela Pyles, PhD, is a forest carbon scientist with nearly 12 years of experience specializing in nature-based solutions for climate change mitigation. They are currently engaged in the Voluntary Carbon Market, developing forest conservation and restoration projects that provide climate, social, and biodiversity benefits. Previously, Marcela worked at Universidad Nacional del Centro del Perú and contributed to projects with Embrapa focusing on low-carbon agriculture. They earned a PhD in Applied Ecology, where they quantified carbon stocks in tropical forests and developed methodologies for national carbon estimations. Marcela has published several scientific articles on the impacts of human activity on tropical forest carbon dynamics.
