The group is led by Dr Mohammad Yaqub, a faculty member of MBZUAI. Dr. Yaqub's vision is to make the BioMedIA group at MBZUAI a world leading research centre focused on solving real-world health-related problems using AI. Students, research assistants, associates and fellows joining the BioMedIA group are expected to work on such problems to come up with novel solutions which could lead to: high tier publications, intellectual properties, publicly available code or datasets for some problems, prototypes, licensing agreements, and industrial collaborations.
