David Barker

David Barker has extensive experience in leadership and advisory roles within the biotechnology and genomics sectors. Currently serving as Chair of the Board of Directors at Bionano Genomics, Inc. since 2010 and as a Board Member at Singular Genomic Systems since 2016, David has also held prominent positions such as Chairman of the Board at Integrated Diagnostics from 2009 to 2018 and a board member at IntegenX, Inc. until 2018. David's contributions to Illumina, Inc. from 2000 to 2015 included roles as Chief Scientific Officer and on the Scientific Advisory Board. Additionally, David has been involved with various companies, including ProteinSimple, NextBio, BiOptix, GenVault Corporation, and DNA Direct, in advisory capacities. David holds a PhD in Biochemistry from Brandeis University and a postdoctoral degree in Neurobiology from Harvard Medical School, complementing a foundational BS in Chemistry from Caltech.
