Ryan Shaw has a diverse work experience starting in 1996 as an On Site Systems Engineer at Tisoft Inc. From 1997 to 2000, they worked as an Information Engineer at Logicon/Northrop Grumman. Ryan then became a Consultant at PriceWaterhouseCoopers from 2000 to 2001. From 2001 to 2010, Ryan held multiple roles at Veritect/RedSiren/Getronics/CompuCom, including Intrusion Analysis Engineer, Manager of Intrusion Analysis, and Director of Applied Security Research. In 2009, they joined Cloudburst Security as a Senior Security Consultant until 2011. Ryan then became the Director of Applied Research & Technology at 1901 Group from 2011 to 2013. From 2013 to 2018, they served as the Chief Operating Officer at Raytheon Foreground Security. In 2019, they co-founded Bionic Cyber, focusing on bringing advanced security operations to the majority.
Ryan Shaw attended James Madison University from 1991 to 1995, where they obtained their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Computer Information Systems. In addition to their degree, Ryan has obtained several certifications over the years. In 2000, they obtained the GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) from SANS. In 2002, they earned the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from ISC2. In 2005, Ryan obtained the GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) certification from SANS. Lastly, in 2011, they obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.
