Jan Hellmann

Jan Hellmann is a PhD and the Associate Director of Analytical Chemistry at BioNTech SE. They have held the position since 2021, leading teams in Synthesis Analytics and Pharmaanalytics and supporting clinical projects as an Analytical SME. Prior to this, Jan gained experience as a Postdoctoral Research Associate and a PhD candidate at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, focusing on medicinal chemistry and organic synthesis. They also worked as a student at Siemens AG, contributing to project documentation and Agile project management training. Jan holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Science from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, as well as a qualification in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Wollongong, Australia.
