Kai Melis gained initial professional experience as an Anlagenfahrer at Kraftwerk Krefeld Uerdingen following their vocational training. They transitioned to biopharmaceutical production at Bayer Pharmaceuticals, where they served as an Operator and later as a Stellvertretender Schichtleiter. After the closure of the facility in 2019, Kai moved into quality assurance in Leverkusen and continued to work in the field at BioNTech SE, currently holding a position as QA Specialist. Kai obtained a degree as an Industriemeister Chemie from FOM Hochschule für Oekonomie & Management between 2017 and 2019.
