Yang Hu

Yang Hu is an accomplished professional in the fields of Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) and non-clinical safety, currently serving as Associate Director of Non-Clinical Safety DMPK at BioNTech SE since May 2024. Prior experience includes a role as Principal Scientist I at Boehringer Ingelheim, where Yang represented the DMPK group in interdisciplinary project teams from March 2022 to March 2024, providing expertise in ADME/PK and PK/PD modeling for oncology drug discovery. As a Postdoctoral Researcher at Uppsala University from March 2019 to February 2022, Yang focused on drug transport across central nervous system (CNS) and peripheral nervous system (PNS) barriers, contributing to the EU-IMI2 project NeuroDeRisk and supervising master's students. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Translational PKPD from Uppsala University and both a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacy, respectively, from Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
