Eric Schafer has a diverse range of work experience in engineering and leadership roles. Eric is currently the Director of Engineering at BIOS Lighting since 2018. Prior to this, from 2014 to 2018, Eric held a position as the Director of Engineering and Principal Embedded Software Engineer at Signature Control Systems, Inc. In this role, they led the engineering team, acted as the principal engineer for embedded software and hardware, and was involved in all aspects of the company's functions.

Before joining Signature Control Systems, Inc., Eric worked at EESE Inc. as the CEO and Principal Engineer from 2002 to 2014. Eric was responsible for designing and developing irrigation control systems and fleet management systems.

Earlier in their career, Eric served as the Director of Engineering and Principal R&D Engineer at CardioDynamics from 1995 to 1999. Eric was the principal development engineer for a non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring system, focusing on electronic hardware and embedded software.

Eric also worked as an R&D Engineer at Hardie Irrigation from 1993 to 1995. At Hardie Irrigation, they played a key role in taking irrigation controllers from conception to production, handling product requirements, hardware and firmware design, and regulatory testing.

Eric Schafer attended California State University, Long Beach from 1987 to 1992. During this time, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and also a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical and Clinical Engineering.
