Rob Harkness has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies in the field of laboratory automation and technology. Rob currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Biosero since 2020. Prior to this, they held the role of Managing Director UK/EU at Biosero from January 2022 to August 2023 and also worked as the Director of Customer Success EU/UK from July 2020 to January 2022.

Before joining Biosero, Rob worked at Astech Projects- Robotics & Automation as the Business Development and Product Director from July 2018 to June 2020. Rob'sresponsibilities included leading new product development, evaluating industry 4.0 solutions, and overseeing software product development. Rob achieved significant accomplishments like creating a mobile robotic product for lab use and securing an Innovate UK KTP grant for AI/ML development.

From February 2015 to June 2018, Rob worked as the Business and Product Development Manager at Peak Analysis & Automation. Rob also ran their own company, LabApps Ltd, providing programming and application development services in the Laboratory Automation field. Rob has also worked at CyBio and Redd & Whyte Limited in various software/application development and business development roles.

Rob's career began in 1999 at Process Analysis & Automation Ltd, where they started as a Project Manager Technical Lead and later became the Business and Technical Development Manager. Rob played a key role in achieving record sales and presented at key seminars on laboratory automation scheduling. Furthermore, Rob's early work experience includes IT application support at Zeneca Agrochemicals.

Overall, Rob Harkness has demonstrated a strong background in business development, product management, and software/application development within the laboratory automation field.

Rob Harkness attended the University of Surrey from 1995 to 1999, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Computer-Aided Chemistry. Rob later pursued further education at the same university from 2005 to 2010 and obtained a Ph.D. in Novel Software solutions for automating Biochemical assays.
