Patrick Schoettker

Co-Founder & Chief Medical Advisor, Vice Chairman at Biospectal

Dr. Patrick Schoettker is a Swiss physician and medical researcher who specializes in anesthesiology and prehospital emergency medicine. Patrick is currently the Co-Founder & Chief Medical Advisor of Biospectal, a company that develops medical technologies, and Vice Chairman of SolarStratos SA, a company that builds solar-powered aircrafts.

Dr. Schoettker began their medical career in 1994 as an open sea sailor on the Merit Cup. In 1995, they returned to shore and began working as a medical doctor at the CHUV / Centre hospitalier universitaire vaudois in Lausanne, Switzerland. Patrick has held several positions at CHUV, including Chief of Neuro, ENT and Trauma Anesthesia (2007-2021), Professor and Head physician of Anesthesiology (2016-2021), and Chief of Prehospital Emergency Medicine (2003-2007). In addition to their work at CHUV, Dr. Schoettker has also been involved with several other medical research projects, including serving as the medical doctor of the team on board the first boat that sails around the world only with solar power (2009-2012) and as the Chief of clinical research (2013-2021).

Patrick Schoettker received their High School Diploma from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School in Kansas City, USA. Patrick then went on to study at the University of Lausanne, where they earned their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in Anesthesia and Emergency Medicine.
