Thomas L. Barrette

Mr. Barrette has extensive experience on growing businesses that have faced challenges which include sophisticated financing needs that often include tax and other government incentives, complex strategic partnerships with multiple parties, and significant government regulation. Mr. Barrette practiced law at Hale and Dorr LLP from 1982 until January 2004. He was a Senior Partner of the law firm from 1990 until his departure in 2004 to join Beacon Wireless Partners and its successor, MainePCS. At MainePCS, he played an integral role in structuring financings and strategic partnerships for the provision of wholesale wireless service to major wireless telecommunications service providers in northern New England. He then was Senior Counsel at Holland & Knight LLP in Boston from October 2012 to September 2016. At Hale and Dorr and Holland & Knight, Mr. Barrette advised clients on the planning and implementation of numerous types of business transactions, particularly venture capital financings, initial public offerings and the structuring and financing of emerging technology-based companies. Mr. Barrette received a J.D. degree, cum laude, from Boston College Law School in 1982. He was an articles editor of the Boston College Law Review and is a cum laude graduate of Harvard College, Class of 1977. Mr. Barrette serves on the board of the Big Brother Big Sister Foundation, Inc.
