Jochen Förster

CTO at Biosyntia

Jochen Förster has a diverse and extensive work experience, starting from their current role as CTO at Biosyntia since September 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Carlsberg Group as the Director and Professor of Yeast and Fermentation from March 2016 to August 2021. Jochen also held positions at The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability as CTO and Professor of Applied Metabolic Engineering from July 2011 to February 2016. Before that, Jochen Förster was actively involved in Fluxome A/S as the COO, Co-Founder, and Senior Scientist from February 2002 to June 2011. Their earlier experiences include working as a Research Assistant at Fraunhofer UMSICHT in 1997-1998, and as a Trainee at Total from November 1995 to October 1996. Jochen began their career as a Student Assistant at Technische Universität Dortmund from November 1993 to October 1995.

Jochen Förster's education history begins in 1990 when they attended TU Dortmund University. Jochen studied Chemical Engineering and completed their degree in 1997. Jochen then pursued further education at DTU - Technical University of Denmark from 1999 to 2002, where they obtained a Ph.D. in Biotechnology. In 2018 and 2020, they attended INSEAD for short courses, focusing on "Making Innovation Happen" and "Communication with Impact," respectively.
