David Danko

Chief Technology Officer at Biotia

David Danko has a diverse work experience. David began their professional career in 2012 as a UROP at the MIT Media Lab, where they used the Processing IDE extensively to create videos explaining post-doctoral research. In 2013, they interned at Akamai Technologies, where they developed software to track network traffic through Akamai's high security data-centers. That same year, they also began working as an Undergraduate Researcher at MIT CSAIL, where they developed entropy-scaling search algorithms for small molecule search and for protein sequence search. In 2015, they became a Research Assistant at the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology, where they studied how the gut-microbiota changes during inflammatory bowel disease. David also became the Head Coach of the Mens Rowing Team at Jesus College Oxford, where they learned invaluable lessons about managing people. Most recently, in 2021, they became the Chief Technology Officer and Director of Software Engineering and Bioinformatics at Biotia.

David Danko completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computational Biology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) between 2011 and 2015. David then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computational Biology and Medicine at Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences, which they completed in 2021.
