Ted Chwu

Ted Chwu is a technology, TMT, and IP lawyer currently serving as a partner and co-head of Bird & Bird's Global Technology & Communications Sector Group since 2004. They have extensive experience in cross-border patent litigation across the Asia Pacific region and focus on IP protection, monetisation, and advising on data protection and anti-competition issues. In June 2025, Ted was elected to Bird & Bird's global Board, taking on governance responsibilities for the firm's international operations. Ted holds a Master’s degree in aeronautical engineering from the University of Cambridge and has a law degree from The University of Hong Kong. Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese, Ted is actively involved in various intellectual property associations.
