On Your Feet Foundation is now the Birthparent Support Alliance

For twenty-five years, On Your Feet has provided birthparents the support and community they deserve, and while that will always be the core focus of our mission, the critical work that we do has grown beyond simply helping birthparents get back on their feet. As the only organization in the country offering birthparents comprehensive case-management and community, demand for our services continues to grow, while at the same time, the organization has entered the national conversation surrounding ethics and adoption, representing and advocating for birthparents in the adoption landscape. In order to best serve birthparents we have realigned our core work into three distinct spaces to best encompass the work we do.

Effective immediately, all of our birthparent support shifts to Shared Journeys Birthparent Collective, a name chosen by our birthparent community; one that better honors the lived experiences of the birthparents we serve, and the role of connection in healing. Shared Journeys is a therapeutic and welcoming space providing services, programming, community, and support for birthparents, at no cost to them. The level of support and programming birthparents were able to access at On Your Feet remains the same at Shared Journeys, and includes the groundbreaking work we are doing in birthparent mental health, as the only organization in the country working on diagnosing and treating Postnatal Mood & Anxiety disorders in this population.

Activism in Adoption remains the educational arm of the organization, providing modern adoption education aimed at improving outcomes for every member of the adoption constellation.

The Birthparent Support Alliance focuses on innovation, advocacy, and ethical care, for both the birthparents we serve and the greater adoption community.

While our name is changing, our commitment to birthparent care is unwavering.
