Birtley is a Kentucky-based clean coal technology provider with global operations in the US and China. As a growing leader in the development, manufacture, and servicing of coal preparation equipment, our rugged and reliable vibrating screens, cyclones, and centrifuge dryers have been tested and proven refining the world’s most abundant and consumed fossil fuel into a cleaner and more efficient energy source.

Clean coal starts with Birtley’s signature separation, dewatering, and drying technology, offering a safe, economical, and environmentally friendly method for removing extraneous, non-combustible impurities and moisture from raw coal. Processed coal weighs less and possesses a higher heating value, improving power plant efficiency so less material is required to achieve the same energy output. This lowers transportation costs from mine to market and leads to a reduction in total emissions of acid rain pollutants, particulate matter, and greenhouse gas emissions.

Contributing to a greener planet, at Birtley we're proud to say "We Work for Cleaner Coal".
