Chris Bryant

Principal Scientist - Synthetic Biology at bit.bio

Chris Bryant has a diverse work experience in the field of synthetic biology and scientific research. Chris is currently working at bit.bio as a Group Leader - Synthetic Biology, a role they started in November 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Scientist - Synthetic Biology Lead at bit.bio starting from May 2021.

Before joining bit.bio, Chris worked at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute as a Postdoctoral Fellow from May 2017 to May 2021. Chris then moved on to the Institute of Cancer Research, where they served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow from April 2015 to April 2017.

Chris began their career as a PhD Student at the University of Bath, where they were actively involved in research from October 2011 to April 2015. Prior to pursuing their PhD, they gained industry experience as an Industrial Trainee at Vernalis from June 2009 to June 2010.

Chris Bryant completed their education starting from 2005 to 2007, where they attended Little Heath School and pursued their A Levels in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Following that, they enrolled at the University of Bath from 2007 to 2011, where they obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry. Continuing their education at the same university, from 2011 to 2015, Chris completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biology and Biochemistry.
