Rob Short

Rob Short has over 35 years of professional experience in software engineering and development. From 1985 to 2006, they worked as a Senior Staff Software Engineer at Iomega. From 2006 to 2012, they worked as a Software Engineer Contractor at ExcelStor, Cornice, Realtime Engineering, Edge/Powerteq, and inovar-inc. From 2010 to 2016, they were the Owner of Short Innovative Ideas (SI²), LLC, where they designed software solutions using Windows/Linux Visual C/C++/C# .NET, Groovy/Java, Python & NI LabVIEW, and developed Crypto Blockchain and NFT smart contracts. From 2016 to 2022, they were a Senior Software Development Engineer at Bit Link Solutions, where they designed custom software interfaces between various systems using the following API stacks and Web/AWS Services: ASP. Net Core, C/C++/C#/WCF/IIS, SQL/Oracle, Node. Finally, since 2022 they have been a Senior Software Development Engineer at Spotter Global, where they design Test-Driven Development Software using Golang/C/JavaScript/Python for a combination of Linux based server and embedded hardware platforms using VS Code, Github and other development tools. Rob also works with Air/Ground embedded image analytics using Yolo (You Only Look Once) neural nets, Viola Jones / Haar Cascade Classifier machine learning algorithms under Gocv/OpenCV.

Rob Short attended Weber State University from 1987 to 1989, studying Software Engineering. Rob then attended Stevens-Henager College-Ogden from 1983 to 1986, where they earned an Associate of Science in Computer Programming (AAS). Additionally, they hold an Amateur Radio Extra Class Operators License from ARRL The National Association for Amateur Radio, and a Shodan / 1st Degree Black Belt from Okinawa Goshukan-Ryu Karate Renmei.
