Director Institutional Sales at BitGo

Michael Tan has a diverse work experience in various financial institutions. Michael started their career as a Credit Sales Analyst at Royal Bank of Scotland from August 2010 to April 2012. Michael then worked as an Investment Manager in Private Equity from April 2012 to June 2014. In January 2015, they joined OCBC Bank as part of the Global Treasury FICC team for six months. From June 2015 to June 2020, they served as a Credit Sales professional at Credit Suisse, where they built strong relationships with clients and managed various bond products. Following that, they moved to J.P. Morgan in June 2020 as an Institutional Fixed Income Salesperson, focusing on OTC fixed income products. Currently, they are working at BitGo as a Director of Institutional Sales, responsible for securing and safeguarding crypto assets for institutional and B2B clients globally.

Michael Tan received their Bachelor of Business degree in Banking and Finance from Nanyang Technological University Singapore, where they studied from 2007 to 2010. In 2008, they also participated in a study abroad program at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, focusing on Finance, General. In addition to their formal education, Michael has obtained several certifications in the field of finance and technology. In 2021, they received Verified Certificates for Building Financial Services on Web 3.0, Designing Financial Services on Web 3.0, and Sustainable Financial Services on Web 3.0 from the National University of Singapore. Michael also completed courses on Blockchain Basics and Blockchain: Beyond the Basics through LinkedIn. Most recently, in 2022, Michael obtained certifications in the Economics of Blockchain and Digital Assets from Wharton Online and Fintech: Innovation and Transformation in Financial Services from the National University of Singapore.
