Markus Strauch

Markus Strauch has a strong background in the financial industry, with experience in various roles. Markus is currently the Head of Digital Assets & Trading at Bitpanda, a position they have held since April 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Evooq as a Product Lead - Financial Marketplace from November 2018 to January 2023. Before that, they were a Portfolio Management Expert - Digital Transformation at additiv from October 2016 to October 2018. Markus also served as a Portfolio Implementation Manager - Multi Assets at PMG Fonds Management AG from May 2015 to September 2016. In addition, they founded and served as the CEO of Global Momentum AG / Buffalo Trading GmbH, a proprietary equity trading firm, from August 2010 to December 2014. Markus started their career as a Proprietary Equity Trader at a prop trading firm from September 2007 to June 2010. Markus has also worked as an Equity Trader / Market Maker at Lang & Schwarz from December 2005 to August 2007. Markus began their career in the financial industry at Merck Finck & Co., where they worked as a Sales Trader Fixed Income and completed an apprenticeship as a banker from August 2002 to November 2005.

Markus Strauch pursued their education at various institutions. From 2006 to 2009, they acquired the qualification of Exchange Trader from Deutsche Börse. In 2006, they also obtained the EUREX Trader certification from Deutsche Börse. In 2013, they became a Certified EEX Power Trader, certified by the European Energy Exchange AG. Continuing their education, Markus obtained the CFTe - Certified Financial Technician qualification from The International Federation of Technical Analyses in 2009. In 2015, they became a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Charterholder, certified by the CAIA Association. Markus also achieved the ACI Dealing Certificate with distinction from ACI Ireland - The Financial Markets Association in the same year.

Moving forward, Markus Strauch obtained certifications in Project Management from FernUniversität in Hagen in 2016 and the Prince2 Foundation Certificate in Project Management from AXELOS Global Best Practice in 2019. Furthermore, they were certified as a PRINCE2™ Practitioner in Project Management, also from AXELOS Global Best Practice in 2019. In 2019, they acquired the Certification of Capability in Business Analysis™ (CCBA) from the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA).

In 2017, Markus Strauch attained the prestigious Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder certification from the CFA Institute. Continuing in the financial realm, they obtained the Certified EFFAS ESG Analyst (CESGA) certification from EFFAS - The European Federation of Financial Analysts Societies in 2018. Moving on, they pursued the Financial Risk Manager (FRM®) certification from the GARP FRM Program in 2019. Notably, they achieved the Chartered Digital Asset Analyst (CDAA) certification from the DEC Institute in February 2023.
