Tiago Lopes

Tiago Lopes has a diverse and extensive work experience. Tiago is currently the Director of Engineering at Bitpanda since 2022. Prior to that, they co-founded PHP-PT.com in 2007 and held the position until 2022. Tiago also worked at Jumia Group, where they served as the Head of Development and Performance & Scalability Tech Lead from 2013 to 2022. Additionally, they were an Advanced Team Leader at Jumia, focusing on front-end engineering and creating a front-end foundation from scratch. Before joining Jumia, Tiago worked as a Senior Developer at Amplitude Net from 2007 to 2013. Tiago also has experience as an Event Coordinator at Tech In Porto from 2017 to 2022.

Tiago Lopes attended the Instituto Superior Politecnico de Gaya from 2002 to 2007, where they obtained a degree in Informatic Engineering. In addition to their formal education, they have also acquired certifications in "Leading the (Im)possible" from Primavera Business Software Solutions SA in May 2018, and "Building Security into your PHP Applications Course" from Zend Technologies, Inc in July 2013.
