Vafa Bayat is currently the Head of R&D at Bitscopic, where they lead AI and genomics innovations aimed at transforming healthcare. They hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD) and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Developmental Biology/Neurodegeneration from Baylor College of Medicine. Vafa completed their Anatomic Pathology Residency at Stanford University School of Medicine and has served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Stanford, where they collaborated on projects concerning Pontocerebellar Hypoplasia and EXOSC2-associated SHRF. In addition to their research, Vafa teaches Genetics and Evolutionary Biology at the Baha'i Institute for Higher Education, providing mentorship to students denied access to Iranian universities.
