Derek Vadala

Derek Vadala is the Chief Risk Officer at BitSight. Derek was previously the Co-Founder and CEO of VisibleRisk, a company created by Moody's and Team8 to develop products to quantify and report on cyber risk for Boards, executives and financial analysts. Derek was also the Global Head of MIS Cyber Risk Group at Moody's Investors Service and the Managing Director at Moody's Corporation. Derek has also worked as a Security Engineer at igxglobal, where they developed and managed an anti-virus/anti-spam platform based on open source technology (Postfix/Amavisd/SpamAssassin). Derek has also designed and delivered security technology solutions to clients in the NYC area, including firewall and network design, implementation of content filters, and wireless security architecture. Derek has also implemented a penetration testing practice for the firm and executed network and application penetration tests for a range of clients.

Derek Vadala received their BA in English Literature from the University of San Francisco.
