Jim Langevin is a former United States Congressman who served 11 terms representing Rhode Island's 2nd District from 2001 to 2023. Known as the first quadriplegic to serve in Congress, they were a leading advocate for disability rights and played a significant role in the passage of the ADA Amendments Act. Prior to their congressional career, Jim held various political positions, including the Secretary of State of Rhode Island from 1995 to 2001 and a State Representative from 1989 to 1995. Currently, they serve in several advisory roles, including as a Government Advisory Board Member at Palo Alto Networks and the Institute for Cybersecurity and Emerging Technologies at Rhode Island College. Jim also mentors at Brown University and contributes as a Senior Fellow in International and Public Affairs.
