Matthew Hartzell

Matthew Hartzell is an experienced cybersecurity professional with a strong background in vulnerability research and management. Currently serving as Manager of Vulnerability Research at Bitsight since May 2024, Matthew leads multiple teams focused on vulnerability detection and advanced research initiatives, implementing AI/ML solutions to enhance cyber threat intelligence. Previously, as Senior Principal Security Researcher at Oracle, Matthew managed a security research team and executed comprehensive security assessments. Other notable roles include Threat Research Manager at CrowdStrike, where Matthew directed a cyber defense research team, and Technical Director at the National Security Agency, providing critical technical direction for government cybersecurity initiatives. Matthew holds a Master of Science in Technical Engineering Management from Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering.
